El general Jax-Ur y Mala aterrorizan Metrópolis, cuando Superman intenta hacerles frente, le tienden una trampa secuestrando a Lois Lane y lo envían a la Zona Fantasma destruyendo el proyector, que es la única forma en la que podría volver Superman. Con Superman fuera de su camino los Kryptonianos empiezan su conquista en la Tierra, el profesor Hamilton construye otro proyector y logra sacar a Superman de la zona Fantasma.
